Actor George Clooney recently expressed his concerns to a top White House official after the US House of Representatives passed a bill to impose sanctions on the ICC prosecutors and investigators who have called for the arrest of Israeli Occupation officials, according to the Washington Post.

Clooney's wife, Amal Clooney, a prominent human rights lawyer, had served on the advisory panel that contributed to the court's investigation. The investigation resulted in warrant requests for Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Occupation War Minister Yoav Gallant, and three senior Hamas leaders, accusing them of illegal conduct leading to civilian deaths.

Reportedly, Clooney feared that if the Biden administration were to impose sanctions on the ICC and its associates involved in the case, it could directly impact his wife.

The actor raised his protest with Steve Ricchetti, a counselor to US President Joe Biden. However, it had no impact on US policy, according to a senior administration official.

This could potentially jeopardize support for Biden from a long-time supporter of Biden’s presidency. Clooney, who was set to attend a fundraiser for Biden in Los Angeles on June 15 with Barack Obama and Julia Roberts, may reconsider his support due to these concerns.
