His Majesty King Abdullah II, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein, received today the President-elect and Secretary of Defence of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and stressed the importance of concerted international efforts to coordinate and increase the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

His Majesty underscored the importance of tomorrow's Emergency Humanitarian Response Conference in Gaza, to be held in Jordan, in unifying efforts to coordinate and increase humanitarian aid to the region, thereby alleviating the catastrophic humanitarian conditions.

His Majesty stressed the necessity of achieving an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and protecting civilians.

He commended Indonesia's efforts to promote peace in the region and its support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), enabling it to fulfill its vital role as mandated by the UN.

His Majesty reiterated the need for a political horizon to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The meeting also addressed the strong relations between Jordan and Indonesia, emphasizing the importance of expanding opportunities for cooperation across various fields.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, and Director of the King’s Office Dr. Jaafar Hassan were also in attendance.
