Jordan braces for another heatwave

Jordan will be affected by a hot air mass starting at the end of this week, causing a rise in temperatures across various regions – according to ArabiaWeather’s forecasts.

Temperatures will increase to 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above average, making the weather relatively hot to hot in most areas.

A heatwave will begin Thursday and last for several days. Temperatures are expected to rise 7 to 9 degrees Celsius above normal, resulting in hot to extremely hot conditions, especially in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

Temperatures are projected to significantly increase over the weekend, with forecasts suggesting that temperatures in the capital, Amman, will reach the high 30s Celsius, approaching 40°C in some eastern neighborhoods. The Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba areas are expected to see temperatures surpassing the mid-40s, resulting in extremely hot conditions – according to ArabiaWeather.

As Jordan experiences this heatwave, it is advised to avoid direct sun exposure, drink plenty of water, and never leave children inside closed vehicles during the midday and afternoon hours. Additionally, flammable materials should not be left in vehicles for extended periods, and cigarettes should be disposed of safely to prevent fires.
