The former “Israeli” Chief of General Staff and former war cabinet minister Benny Gantz congratulated Muslims today on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha (The Feast of Sacrifice) saying that “we are all required to make extra sacrifices so that we can continue to live in the country with security.”

“I congratulate the Arab society and the Druze and Circassian community on the occasion of the Feast of Sacrifice,” Gantz said on his official “X” account.

“The holiday that symbolizes sacrifice and hope comes this year on particularly difficult days, on the national and private level.”

“In recent times, more than ever, we are all required to make extra sacrifices so that we can continue to live in the country with security,” he added.

“Especially now, we all need to believe and act so that more peaceful and safe days will come upon us, that we will multiply them in unity and togetherness, and that next year it will be possible to celebrate the holiday with full joy.”

“Eid Mubarak,” Gantz concluded his congratulatory message.

Gantz announced his resignation from the “Israeli” war cabinet last week after previously threatening to leave over the lack of a post-war strategy for the Gaza Strip by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Leaving the government is a complex and painful decision,” Gantz said. “Our participation in the war council was for our shared destiny, not a political partnership.”

He called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold an election as soon as possible, adding that the elections must bring about a “true national Zionist unity government".

He said that the political considerations of Netanyahu’s government are “hindering the strategic decision in the Gaza war.”
