42-year-old Elizabeth Wolf was arrested after she allegedly tried to drown a three-year-old girl in what appears to be a racially motivated attack.

The incident occurred at a swimming pool in an apartment complex, following a confrontation with the child's Palestinian mother.

Wolf, described by witnesses as "very intoxicated," confronted the mother who was wearing a hijab and speaking in a foreign language to her children.

The confrontation escalated when Wolf allegedly attempted to grab the woman's six-year-old son, who managed to escape but sustained a cut to his finger in the process.

Subsequently, Wolf allegedly seized the opportunity to grab the woman's three-year-old daughter and forcibly submerged her underwater. Quick action by a nearby witness allowed the mother to rescue her daughter before emergency services arrived at the scene.

The Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Texas) condemned the incident, urging authorities to investigate it as a hate crime.

They highlighted the traumatic impact on the family, with the mother expressing fear for her children's safety in light of the attack.

"We are American citizens, originally from Palestine, and I don't know where to go to feel safe with my kids," the mother stated. "My daughter is traumatized; whenever I open the apartment door, she runs away and hides, telling me she is afraid the lady will come and immerse her head in the water again."

Texas State Representative Salman Bhojani denounced the incident, labeling it as "racist" and "Islamophobic." He emphasized that such acts of hate have no place in their community or state.

Wolf was initially arrested for public intoxication in May and now faces charges of attempted murder and injury to a child following a thorough investigation by local authorities.
