Resigned Minister Benny Gantz, formerly part of the “Israeli” war council, acknowledged on Tuesday that Hamas represents an “idea that cannot be destroyed.”

He stated, "Hamas is an idea that cannot be destroyed, but our army can eliminate its capabilities," highlighting the enduring nature of the movement despite military efforts.

These statements echo sentiments expressed by Daniel Hagari, the spokesperson for the IOF.

Hagari recently acknowledged that "talk of destroying Hamas is just a smokescreen for the Israelis," and as long as no alternative to Hamas exists, the movement will persist.

He pointed out that Hamas is deeply rooted in the hearts of many, making it an idea that cannot be eradicated.

Hagari also highlighted the heavy toll the conflict is taking on the IOF, underscoring that the army "cannot remain silent."
