The Jordanian Armed Forces thwarted an attempted drug smuggling operation from Syrian territory early Wednesday. Coordinating with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, the Eastern Military Zone intercepted a large quantity of narcotics.

The operation resulted in the death of one smuggler and the injury of others, who retreated back into Syrian territory. The seized contraband was handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

The military emphasized its commitment to using all available resources to decisively combat any threats to Jordan's national security.
