In a recent development, the Israeli Occupation recently unveiled the "David Passage," a new land route positioned near the Gaza-Egypt border, ostensibly to replace the Rafah Karam Abu Salem border crossings.

The strategic location of this new passage raised alarms among observers. Critics and Palestinian factions, including Hamas, condemned the move, alleging that it aims to facilitate the gradual displacement of Palestinians under the guise of humanitarian arrangements.

Tensions escalated further when, approximately two months ago, the “Israeli” military seized control of the Rafah Border Crossing, resulting in the destruction of much of its infrastructure.

This aggressive action effectively halted the movement of thousands of critically ill patients and humanitarian cases who rely on the crossing for medical treatment abroad.

Consequently, the number of aid trucks entering Gaza has significantly dwindled, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the strip.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry firmly rejected any “Israeli” military control over the Rafah Border Crossing from the Palestinian side on Wednesday.

Shoukry pointed out that the Israeli Occupation government continues to create a pressured environment for Palestinians.

Just days ago, the Gaza government media office disclosed that approximately 25,000 patients have been barred from traveling abroad for essential medical care since the destruction of the Rafah crossing.

Furthermore, the closure of both the Rafah and Karam Abu Salem crossings has left around 15,000 aid trucks stranded.

Officials lamented that this has contributed to a mounting threat of famine in Gaza, warning of an imminent rise in fatalities due to starvation.

Additionally, critics have highlighted that the American floating dock, previously touted as a solution to alleviate the famine crisis, has failed to deliver adequate relief, particularly in northern Gaza. Instead, it has been repurposed for military and security operations.
