At least 5,081 “Israeli” settlers reportedly stormed into the Al-Aqsa Mosque in June under the protection of the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), according to a report by Al-Hurriya newspaper.

The IOF maintains tight controls over access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, restricting Muslim worshippers while facilitating the entry of “Israeli” settlers under heavy military protection.

The heightened military presence around the Old City gates effectively transformed the area into what critics describe as military barracks.

Palestinian activists vehemently condemned the incursions, calling it a deliberate attempt to assert control over Al-Aqsa Mosque and to Judaize its spiritual and historical significance.

They issued calls for increased Muslim presence within the compound to counter such actions and protect the sanctity of the site from further encroachments.
