The UN Security Council held a briefing Tuesday on the Middle East situation, including the Palestinian issue, followed by a closed consultation session.

The members received a briefing from Sigrid Kaag, the chief coordinator for humanitarian affairs and reconstruction in Gaza, regarding the implementation of Resolution 2720 on Gaza's reconstruction efforts.

The Security Council president for this month announced that a ministerial-level discussion on the Middle East would take place on the 17th of this month, chaired by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
