The Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced the arrest of the individual who filmed and published a video of a tragic car accident on Jordan Street in northern Amman.

According to a statement by the PSD spokesperson on Tuesday, the Cyber Crimes Unit began investigating after a video showing the initial moments of a traffic accident, in which three minors were run over, was widely circulated.

The video, considered a violation of the law and societal norms, was deemed disrespectful to the deceased and injured children and their families, displaying them in a manner that no one has the right to do under any circumstances – per the statement.

Following an investigation, the Cyber Crimes Unit identified and apprehended the videographer who filmed and disseminated the video.

The spokesperson highlighted that all necessary technical and electronic investigations were conducted, confirming the suspect's actions of filming and posting the video.

The suspect will be referred to the judiciary on charges including:

- Violation of privacy by infringing on the law of filming without consent
- Contravening Article 20 of the Cybercrimes Law by using social media or information systems to publish content that individuals wish to keep private.
- Violating the Penal Code by failing to provide aid to a person in need and instead focusing on filming rather than contacting Civil Defense.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday in the Abu Nseir area of northern Amman, resulted in the deaths of two minors and the injury of a third.

An official source told Roya that the accident happened when a vehicle overturned, running over the three minors.

The source added that the accident led to the deaths of two minors and the injury of another, with the deceased transported to the forensic medicine center and the injured taken to the hospital.
