Gaza has become "the world’s largest orphanage above ground and a graveyard for children below," declared Turkey’s First Lady, Emine Erdogan, on Tuesday.

Erdogan called for global solidarity to protect and support the vulnerable populations in Gaza, Anadolu Agency reported.

She revealed that at least 17,000 children have been left without families and have no safe refuge.

"Today, it is heartbreaking that, in various parts of the world, children are living under terrible conditions, struggling to survive, left alone without experiencing a nurturing family environment," Erdogan stated.

In her speech, Erdogan detailed the gravity of the situation, noting that approximately 4,000 children are believed to be trapped under rubble or missing.

She stressed that the atrocities inflicted on Palestinian children by “Israel” have left deep wounds on the souls of children worldwide. "These wounds will not heal," she asserted.
