PHOTOS - Regent meets Jordanian teams participating in Paris Olympics, Paralympics

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Regent, on Thursday met with the Jordan Olympic and Paralympic teams participating in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will take place in Paris in July and August.

Crown Prince Al Hussein attended part of the national teams’ training sessions during a visit to the Olympic Preparation Centre in Amman, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein, president of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC).

The Crown Prince congratulated the athletes on reaching the Olympics and Paralympics, wishing them success in Paris.

The Olympic Games will kick start in Paris on 26 July and proceed until 11 August, while the Paralympic Games will take place from 28 August until 8 September.

Representing Jordan in the Olympic Games are: Julyana Al Sadeq, Rama Abu Al Rub, Saleh Al Sharabaty, and Zaid Mustafa in taekwondo, Hussein Ishaish, Zeyad Ishaish, and Obada Al Kasbeh in boxing, Ahmad Abu Al Soud in gymnastics, Zaid Abu Yemen in table tennis, in addition to Amr Alwir and Karin Belbeisi in swimming, and Moath Khawaldeh in the marathon competition.

Representing Jordan in the Paralympic Games are: Ahmad Hindi in shot put athletics, in addition to seven powerlifting athletes—Jamil Al Shebli, Moataz Al Junaidi, Tharwat Al Hajjaj, Asma Issa, Abdul Karim Khattab, Omar Qaradeh, and Mohammad Al Shunaiti.

Her Royal Highness Princess Ayah bint Feisal, president of the Jordan Volleyball Federation and JOC board member, JOC Vice President Sari Hamdan, and JOC Secretary General Rana Al Saeed attended the meeting.
