“Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the United States President Joe Biden in a phone call that he has agreed to send an “Israeli” delegation to renew indirect negotiations for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu reaffirmed to Biden that “Israel” is committed to “ending the war only after achieving all of its goals” – according to a readout of the conversation released by Netanyahu’s office.

Hebrew Channel 13 reported that Mossad chief David Barnea is expected to take off soon for indirect talks with Hamas regarding a ceasefire based on a prisoner exchange deal.

Netanyahu greeted Biden on the occasion of the US Independence Day –July 4– and said that “without the US, there is no freedom in the world.

Biden responded that without “Israel”, there would be no safety for Jews worldwide.

In response, a spokesperson for Hamas is quoted as saying: “We do not trust Netanyahu or the US administration. We trust the resistance, our people, and the support fronts.”

“By monitoring Netanyahu’s statements, we can notice the contradiction, and this confirms that Netanyahu is not serious about reaching an agreement,” Hamas spokesman in Lebanon Ahmed Abdel Hadi tells Lebanese TV al-Mayadeen.
