Despite banning Russia and Belarus, the city of Hiroshima has invited the Israeli Occupation to the annual peace ceremony on August 6, which is held to commemorate the Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
Residents of the city and peace activists called out the city of Hiroshima on its “double standards” as Russia and Belarus have been barred from the ceremony for three consecutive years over the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
The Israeli Occupation, widely believed to be a nuclear-armed, expressed its intention to attend the event, and the city of Hiroshima send an official invitation in response
Responding to criticism, an official from the city said that “Israel’s” attendance will lead to “seriously taking our thoughts into account” – as the conference calls for the Israeli Occupation to halt its aggression against the Gaza Strip and announce a ceasefire.
The invitation letter to “Israeli” president Isaac Herzog, and the ambassador of “Israel” to Japan, states that it is “deeply regrettable that the lives and everyday existences of many people are being taken away.”
