The Jordanian Cabinet approved several key amendments to the 2024 Electoral Districts System in a session held on Thursday.

The amendment to the Electoral Districts System follows the issuance of the Amended System for Administrative Divisions No. (29) for the year 2024, which established new districts in certain governorates.

The Cabinet also approved changes to the Civil Aviation Fees System for 2024.

Furthermore, the Cabinet endorsed the draft amendment to the Administrative Organization System of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD) for 2024.

This draft, now referred to as the Legislation and Opinion Bureau, proposes the creation of new administrative units and the renaming of existing ones to align with the council's functions and the needs of administrative modernization.

On a financial note, the Cabinet approved the recommendations of the Settlement and Reconciliation Committee between taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD).

This decision resolves the tax situations of 47 companies and individuals who had outstanding obligations under the Income Tax Law and the General Sales Tax Law.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved recommendations from the Committee to Consider Outstanding Claims between taxpayers and/or violators and the Jordanian Customs Department.

This resolution settles 24 cases, contingent on the commitment of these taxpayers and violators to pay all remaining amounts, including fees, taxes, or expenses, within two months from the date of the decision.
