The “Israeli” government’s security cabinet approved a plan to extend compulsory military service for men from the current 32 months to 36 months, as reported by Yedioth Ahronoth on Friday.

The new 36-month rule will be enforced for the next eight years. The measure is expected to be submitted for a vote in a full cabinet meeting scheduled for Sunday.

Military commanders emphasized the need to increase manpower to sustain ongoing military operations in Gaza and against Hezbollah.

Additionally, “Israel” plans to send draft notices to thousands of ultra-Orthodox seminary students who were previously exempt from military service.
