Hamas decided to suspend ceasefire negotiations AFP reported on Sunday.

This decision, announced by a senior Hamas leader, cited the "lack of seriousness of the [Israeli] occupation" and the ongoing "massacres against unarmed civilians."

Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’ political bureau chief, relayed this decision to mediators and several regional parties through a series of communications and phone calls.

Haniyeh emphasized that the persistent policy of procrastination and obstruction by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), along with the massacres of unarmed civilians, led to this decision.

Furthermore, “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disclosed in a press conference on Saturday that the IOF and Shin Bet launched an operation aimed at eliminating Mohammed Deif.

Netanyahu stated, "Deif's hands are stained with the blood of many Israelis."

Netanyahu emphasized the significance of the operation, stating, "Al-Mawasi operation will free the Middle East from these people. Such rare opportunities come to us after important intelligence information."

However, Hamas confirmed that Deif is safe following the IOF airstrikes.

Khalil Al-Hayya, the deputy head of Hamas, addressed Netanyahu after his claims regarding Al-Mawasi massacre in Khan Yunis on Saturday.

"Mohammed Deif hears you now and mocks your false statements,” Hayya said. “The occupation continues with deliberate killing, destruction, and targeting of children and women."

Hayya warned Netanyahu that he would be held responsible if the exchange deal failed, asserting that Hamas's negotiating position remains strong. He urged Netanyahu to respond to the mediators rather than to Hamas directly.

Hayya further stated, "We say to Netanyahu, you have failed."
