His Majesty King Abdullah II received a call on Monday from UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, and stressed the deep, strategic ties between Jordan and the United Kingdom.

His Majesty congratulated Prime Minister Starmer on taking office, expressing Jordan’s keenness on bolstering cooperation in service of the two peoples, as well as regional security and stability.

The King also stressed the need to mobilise the international community to reach an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, while protecting civilians and increasing the flow of aid to the Strip.

His Majesty warned against the danger of a regional expansion of the conflict, reaffirming that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve just and comprehensive peace.
