Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, will publicly endorse Donald Trump’s campaign for reelection in the 2024 presidential race, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported.
Musk, known for promoting electric vehicles (EVs) and reducing carbon emissions, has historically contrasted with Trump, who has frequently questioned the necessity of stringent environmental regulations and advocated for increased fossil fuel production.
Musk, who previously donated to both parties, shifted his support primarily to Republicans, stating that the Democratic Party has moved too far left for his liking.
Musk committed to supporting Trump’s campaign with a staggering USD 45 million a month through a new super political action committee (PAC) called America PAC.
The America PAC aims to engage voters in swing states by promoting early voting and mail-in ballots. Musk's strategic move intends to leverage his extensive reach as one of the most followed influencers on social media, with 190 million followers.
