Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the incursion of Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, into the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday morning under the protection of the Israeli Occupation Police.

This action was deemed a provocative and condemned step, reflecting the ongoing unilateral measures and systematic policies of the extreme Israeli government, which flagrantly violates international laws and Israel's obligations as the occupying power in occupied Jerusalem.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Qudah, stated that the "Israeli" minister's incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque and its violation represents a blatant and unacceptable breach of international law and the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites.

Ambassador Qudah emphasized that the continued unilateral "Israeli" measures and violations of the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites require a clear international stance condemning these violations and providing the necessary protection for the Palestinian people amidst the ongoing aggressive war by the "Israeli" government on the Gaza Strip.

He reaffirmed that the entire area of Al-Aqsa Mosque, spanning 144 dunums, is a purely Islamic place of worship. The Jerusalem Waqf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department of the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places is the sole legal entity responsible for managing all affairs of Al-Haram Al-Sharif and regulating entry to it. He stressed the right of the State of Palestine to sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem and stated that "Israel", as the occupying power, has no right or sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
