Amjad Suwais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Information and Communication Technology Association of Jordan (Int@j), confirmed that Jordanian ICT companies are operating normally and have not been impacted by the recent global cyber malfunction that disrupted several sensitive sites worldwide.
Suwais emphasized that the association had not received any reports or complaints about technical issues within Jordanian companies.
This global malfunction has notably affected critical sectors such as banks, airports, and financial institutions in various countries.
Suwais explained that the primary reason for Jordan's immunity to this malfunction is the limited use of CrowdStrike technology in major Jordanian institutions.
CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity company known for its cloud-based protection solutions that utilize advanced techniques to detect and address threats in real time.
“Jordan’s major institutions do not heavily rely on CrowdStrike technology, which has shielded us from the disruptions experienced in other countries,” Al-Suwais stated.
He also praised the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) for its high level of preparedness and capability in safeguarding the nation's cybersecurity infrastructure. The center's efforts have been instrumental in maintaining the integrity and stability of Jordan's ICT operations amid global cyber threats.
