A patrol from the Central Traffic Department of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) apprehended a driver in the capital, Amman, for failing to use a seatbelt.

Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the driver was operating the vehicle without a valid license.

Consequently, the driver was taken to a security center, and the vehicle was impounded at the Traffic Department’s impound lot.

The department warns against dangerous violations, stressing that such actions can have severe consequences for drivers, pedestrians, and other road users.

Under the current traffic regulations, individuals who allow an unlicensed person or someone with an inappropriate license to drive their vehicle face legal repercussions.

Offenders may be subject to imprisonment for a minimum of two weeks and up to one month, or a fine ranging from JD50 to JD100.

Additionally, the law grants members of the PSD the authority to arrest drivers without a warrant if they are found driving without proper authorization.

This includes the confiscation of the driver’s license, vehicle license, driving permit, and training permit.
