Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, issued a severe condemnation of “Israel's” treatment of Palestinians, describing it as "brutal and sadistic apartheid."

In a recent post on X, Albanese stated, “In fact, a single state in Palestine already exists. It is the opposite of democracy and becomes more brutal and sadistic towards its victims every day. Israel practices Apartheid.”

Addressing the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) recent ruling on the Israeli occupation of Palestine, Albanese emphasized the illegitimacy of Israel's occupation. 

“Israel’s 57yo occupation is UNLAWFUL, nothing concerning it should be considered as legal by member states & UN agencies alike and Israel must dismantle it at once, together with its illegal settlement enterprise, the apartheid that has sustained it and also offer reparations to the Palestinians.”
