The Public Security Directorate (PSD) issued a strong warning to Jordanians and residents to avoid swimming in unauthorized areas such as dams, water channels, and agricultural ponds during the summer months.

The PSD emphasized not allowing children to approach these bodies of water due to the high risk of drowning.

The PSD highlighted the significant risks associated with swimming in these non-designated water bodies, pointing out that they are not equipped with basic safety measures and pose a serious danger of drowning.

Additionally, the directorate cautioned against the impulsive act of rescuing drowning individuals without proper swimming skills and knowledge, advising that such actions could result in further accidents.

For safety, the PSD recommends swimming only in designated areas with proper facilities, supervising children closely when they are near water bodies, and wearing life jackets when swimming in deep water.
