The Mayor of Amman, Dr. Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, has directed the formation of a committee consisting of senior municipality officials to review the bonuses granted to employees, users, and workers of the municipality.

The committee will examine various aspects of the bonuses, including those related to dual roles, senior management employees, and sectors and departments under the Mayor and City Manager. The review aims to align the bonuses with the new human resources system to be issued and consider the current bonuses at all functional levels.

The municipality emphasized that efforts are ongoing to implement the financial and administrative development plan, which includes granting incentives to targeted employees.

In a statement received by Roya on Tuesday, the municipality mentioned coordinating with the Social Security Administration to calculate the "professional and positional burdens" bonus, as stipulated by the Social Security decision on retirement salaries.

It clarified that anyone who retired after January 1, 2017, would be eligible for this bonus or any other bonuses approved by the Social Security Corporation.

Last month, the municipality launched a development plan aimed at institutional agility, improving employee efficiency, and directing spending towards capital investments while reducing current expenditures. The plan aims to employ technology efficiently and enhance cooperation with the private sector to improve services for citizens and the city.

The plan's objectives include raising service efficiency for citizens, improving city services, reviewing processes and regulations to build a flexible organizational structure. The development plan for ten years is set to be adopted with the 2025 budget approval.

The initial phase starts immediately as a preparatory stage, targeting 4,460 employees for retirement with incentives. The next phase aims to target 7,000 employees over ten years.
