Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service is now operational in a hospital in the Gaza Strip, marking a significant step forward for medical services in the region. The announcement came from Musk, who shared the news on his social media platform X.

"Starlink is now active in a Gaza hospital with the support of @UAEmediaoffice and @Israel," Musk posted. This initiative follows the "Israeli" government's approval of Starlink's use in the hospital located in Rafah, southern Gaza, more than five months ago.

The introduction of Starlink's high-speed internet is expected to transform healthcare delivery in the hospital. The UAE foreign ministry had previously stated in February that this connectivity would enable critical, real-time medical consultations via video calls, which can be life-saving.

Gaza has been plagued by poor internet connectivity due to frequent power shortages and insufficient fuel to run provider centers. These challenges have hindered the efficiency of medical and rescue operations, as well as the functionality of the health ministry's centralized systems.

The activation of Starlink in Rafah's hospital promises to alleviate some of these issues by providing stable and fast internet access. This will improve communication, facilitate better medical consultations, and enhance the overall operation of healthcare services in the hospital.
