The Jordanian Embassy in Cairo issued an urgent notice to Jordanian citizens residing in Egypt, highlighting the importance of complying with new residency requirements. 

The embassy called on its nationals to promptly visit the General Directorate of Passports, Immigration, and Nationality to obtain a smart residency card, as per the latest instructions from the Egyptian Ministry of Interior.

The embassy stressed that acquiring the smart residency card is crucial for Jordanian residents to access all government services available in Egypt. 

This measure aligns with a decision recently announced by the Egyptian Prime Minister, which mandates the new residency card for all foreign nationals.

The embassy warned that failure to secure the smart residency card by the deadline of Sept. 30, 2024, will lead to the suspension of services for foreigners who are currently exempted from standard residency permits. 

Moreover, those who do not comply with the new regulations will be considered in violation of Egypt's residency laws.
