Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held extensive talks today.

Their discussions focused on strengthening the strategic brotherly relations between the two nations and addressed efforts to halt the “Israeli” aggression on Gaza, as well as other regional issues.

Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed their commitment to increasing cooperation across various fields, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

They both emphasized the dangers of the ongoing “Israeli” aggression on Gaza and the urgent need for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the delivery of sufficient aid to the entire Gaza Strip.

During their meeting, which is part of the ongoing consultation and coordination between the two countries, Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed discussed cooperation to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, including the coordination of aid through Jordan.

Safadi reiterated Jordan's support for the efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States to secure a deal leading to a permanent ceasefire.

Both Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed stressed the need for an effective international stance to halt “Israel's” illegal actions in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which undermine the two-state solution and the prospects for a just and comprehensive peace.

They also discussed efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and affirmed their support for Lebanon's security and stability and the importance of adhering to UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Safadi thanked Sheikh Mohammed for the attention given by Qatar to approximately 80,000 Jordanian citizens working and residing in the country.

Both leaders emphasized the continuation of consultation, coordination, and cooperation to serve the interests of the two countries and address Arab and Islamic issues.
