The Grand Criminal Court sentenced a young man to five years of temporary labor for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl with her consent.

The court convicted the 18-year-old defendant of sexual assault while dismissing the public prosecution's case against him for the misdemeanor of committing an indecent act under Article 305\1 of the Penal Code, as the offense falls under the general amnesty law No. 5 of 2024.

The victim had previously become acquainted with the defendant, leading to a romantic relationship, according to reports. The defendant had met the victim and kissed her on the cheek.

The decision notes that the defendant later met the victim at his home, where she stayed until 1:00 AM. It was there that he sexually assaulted her before her father found her.
