On Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Lebanon in a phone call with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib

During the call, Safadi emphasized Jordan's support for Lebanon, its security, and the safety of its citizens and institutions, emphasizing Jordan's rejection of any aggression against Lebanon and its sovereignty – according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

Safadi warned of the serious repercussions of any “Israeli” escalation against Lebanon on regional security and stability.

He stressed the need for collective efforts to de-escalate tensions and protect the region from the risk of slipping into a regional war, and emphasized the importance of adhering to UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

He also highlighted that the ongoing “Israeli” aggression against Gaza poses a risk of expanding the conflict across the region and called for effective international action to halt the aggression and compel Israel to respect international law and resolutions.

In response, Bouhabib expressed Lebanon’s appreciation for Jordan’s historical stance in supporting Lebanon's security and stability.
