Hezbollah condemned an Israeli Occupation airstrike that targeted a residential building in Haret Hreik, in the southern suburbs of Beirut, on Tuesday.

“As is now well known, the Zionist enemy carried out an attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut on Tuesday, July 30, 2024,” the group said in their statement. “They targeted a residential building in one of its neighborhoods, resulting in the martyrdom of several citizens, injuries to others, and significant damage to several floors of the building.”

The statement revealed that Fuad Shukr, a high-ranking Hezbollah official and senior military advisor to Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, was present in the building during the attack.

Hezbollah continued, “Civil defense teams have been working diligently to remove the debris since the incident, but progress has been slow due to the condition of the damaged floors.”

The fate of Shukr and other civilians trapped in the wreckage remains uncertain, according to the statement.

Hezbollah called for patience as they await the results of the ongoing rescue efforts.
