Jordan strongly condemned Israeli Occupation's assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Palestine, in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

The Foreign Ministry described, in a statement issued Wednesday, the killing as a violation of international law and international humanitarian law, as well as a provocative act that will lead to further tension and chaos in the region.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Al-Qudah, reaffirmed Jordan's firm stance against violations of state sovereignty and international law, condemning political assassinations, violence, and terrorism, regardless of their motives.

Al-Qudah emphasized the need for the international community to take responsibility and take immediate action to halt Israel's aggression against Gaza and its violations of international law and United Nations resolutions. He called for measures to protect the security and stability of the region from the catastrophic consequences of Israel's continued aggression against Gaza and its escalating violations of Palestinian rights.

He also expressed Jordan's condolences to the Palestinian state, its people, and the families of Dr. Haniyeh and his companion.

Furthermore, the spokesperson condemned Israel's recent aggression on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and its ongoing violations of Lebanese sovereignty. He warned that these crimes would only drag the region into a wider conflict, threatening both regional and international peace and security.
