The “Israeli” security establishment is currently on “peak alert” as it braces for potential attack by Iran and Hezbollah in coming days from “several fronts” – according to a report by Hebrew channel 12.

It added that “Israeli” leadership has been holding discussion on the nature of response that could come following those expected attacks – such as preparing for an “entry into all-out war”.

Conservative Iranian newspaper Kayhan warned that the Iranian response could differ from the one in April, by targeting areas deep inside “Israel” such as Tel Aviv and Haifa and also homes of “Israeli” officials.

Iran said earlier on Saturday that it expects its proxy, Lebanese group Hezbollah, to hit targets deeper inside “Israel” and no longer be confined to military targets.

This comes following the assassination of a top Hezbollah military commander and advisor to the group’s Secretary-General Hasan Nasrallah in a strike on a residential building in south Beirut which also killed five other civilians; three women and two children.

"We expect... Hezbollah to choose more targets and (strike) deeper in its response," said the Iranian mission to the United Nations, quoted by the official IRNA news agency.

"Secondly, that it will not limit its response to military targets.”

"Hezbollah and the (Israeli) regime had observed certain lines…the Beirut strike crossed that line", it added.

Late Friday, an Iranian state TV presenter anticipated "astounding and major events" taking place "in the coming hours" in the Israeli Occupation.
