Chinese boxer Yang Liu advanced to the final of the women’s under-66 kg boxing event at the Paris Olympics. 

With this victory, Yang Liu secured her place in the final, where she will face Algerian boxer Imane Khelif. 

Khelif, who earned a silver medal at the 2023 World Championship, will be aiming for redemption in this high-stakes bout scheduled for Friday.

The upcoming final holds special significance for Khelif, who was controversially denied the opportunity to compete in the World Championship final against Liu. 

Despite clearing all pre-tournament medical tests, Khelif was excluded from the championship match due to elevated testosterone levels, a decision widely regarded as unfair and unusual.
