A security force successfully apprehended a suspect wanted for drug trafficking and distribution in the southern Jordan Valley today, according to a statement from the Public Security Directorate (PSD).

The statement revealed that a specialized investigative team from the Anti-Narcotics Department had been monitoring the suspect, who had a criminal record.

The team gathered detailed information on his criminal activities and movements, leading to his location being identified and surrounded.

During the operation, the suspect fired numerous shots at the security force, resulting in injuries to two anti-narcotics officers, who are reported to be in stable condition.

The security force managed to arrest the suspect after he attempted to flee, and a firearm was recovered from him – per the statement.
