The “Israeli” police imposed a six-month ban on Sheikh Ekrima Sa'id Sabri, the imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, from entering the mosque and its surrounding courtyards.

Sheikh Sabri was arrested on Friday evening, shortly after he delivered a sermon and eulogized Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas political bureau chief who was recently assassinated in Tehran.

The “Israeli” prosecution agreed to investigate Sheikh Sabri’s sermon for alleged incitement.

The police are currently examining whether the sermon constitutes incitement and will determine their course of action based on the results of their investigation.

Hebrew media have further revealed that the “Israeli” Interior Minister Moshe Arbel is calling for the revocation of Sheikh Sabri’s "Jerusalem residency" in response to the events surrounding the Friday prayer and the memorial service for Haniyeh.

Following this call, there have been threats from settlers to attack Sheikh Sabri’s home in Jerusalem, including the sharing of coordinates for the residence.
