After two of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour shows were canceled in Vienna, Austria due to a Daesh-linked terrorist plot to attack the event, Austrian intelligence agencies said a 19-year-old sympathizer with the terrorist group was arrested Thursday.

The would-be perpetrator was planning a suicide attack at the concert in Vienna designed to “kill many people” – a statement by the agency said, cited by Agence France-Presse (AFP).

"He said he intended to carry out an attack using explosives and knives," Austrian Domestic Intelligence Agency (DSN) head Omar Haijawi-Pirchner told a news conference.

"His aim was to kill himself and a large number of people during the concert, either today or tomorrow".

The intelligence originated from U.S. authorities and was communicated to its Austrian counterpart, sources familiar with the matter told CBS News.
