Following Tawjihi results, Gold prices spike in Jordan

Gold prices in Jordan spiked Monday, per the prices quoted Thursday by the Jordanian Jewelers Syndicate (JJS) on August 8, 2024 – after the Tawjihi results were released by the Ministry of Education today.

The purchase price for citizens of one gram of 21-carat gold stands at JD 49.1 with a selling price of JD 47.2

The purchase price of one gram of 24-carat gold is JD 56.7 with a selling price of JD 54.2

As for 18-carat gold, selling and purchase prices stand at JD 44 and JD 40.5 respectively.

The Ministry of Education announced the Tawjihi results on Thursday.

The Minister of Education, Azmi Mahafzah, will hold a press conference at 6:00 PM to announce the overall success rates and the names of the top-performing students across all streams.

Dr. Nawaf Al-Ajarmeh, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, stated that this year's Tawjihi results are among the best in the last decade, with the overall success rate close to last year's 63 percent. He noted that no student achieved a perfect score, and over 50 percent of the top achievers in the scientific stream came from public schools.
