Weather forecast: Heatwave from Arabian Peninsula to affect Jordan

A heat wave originating from the Arabian Peninsula is expected to affect eastern regions of Jordan, causing temperatures to rise above average for this time of year by several degrees Celsius. The impact on major cities will be indirect – per ArabiaWeather.

Temperatures will begin to increase starting Tuesday, with a notable rise on Wednesday, reaching 3-5 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average.

The weather will be relatively hot over mountainous areas and hot in other regions, with extremely high temperatures expected in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, Aqaba, and eastern desert areas under the influence of the hot air mass.

Temperatures are forecasted to reach the low 40s Celsius in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, and may approach the mid-40s in parts of the eastern desert. In major cities, including the capital Amman, high temperatures will range from the low to mid-30s Celsius during Tuesday and Wednesday.

Northwesterly winds will continue across the Kingdom, with moderate speeds in the afternoon and evening, occasionally increasing in the eastern areas, potentially stirring dust and sand in the desert regions.

Hot air is approaching Jordan but is not expected to deepen enough to trigger a heatwave or elevate temperatures to extremely high levels. Consequently, there are no indications of a heatwave in Jordan in the coming days, despite the rise in temperatures.

Weather Forecast for Monday, Tuesday in Jordan

Temperatures will remain slightly above the seasonal average, with normal summer weather over the mountains and relatively hot conditions elsewhere, and very hot in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba. Early morning will see low clouds in northern and some central areas.

High temperatures will be in the low 30s Celsius over the mountains, mid-30s Celsius in other cities and regions of Jordan, and reaching the high 30s Celsius in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba.

According to ArabiaWeather, northwesterly winds will be moderate with active gusts in the afternoon and evening, making the conditions favorable for outdoor activities during the evening and night.

The weather will remain mild and humid on Monday night/Tuesday, with cooler conditions expected over the mountainous and eastern plains, particularly in the early morning.
