The Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) said today that the Jordanian Southern Command thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of drugs using a drone along its western border.

A spokesperson for the Jordanian Armed Forces reported that the border guard units in the Jordanian Southern Command detected the illegal attempt by the drone to cross the border. Rules of engagement were applied, and the drone was shot down within Jordanian territory. The seized materials were handed over to the relevant authorities – per the JAF’s statement.

The spokesperson emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) will continue to respond with strength and determination to any threats along the border and any efforts aimed at undermining national security and terrorizing citizens.
