US President Joe Biden has shared details about the ongoing negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza and a potential captive exchange.

Biden expressed optimism about reaching a ceasefire agreement, noting that there is a real opportunity for progress.

However, he clarified that a final ceasefire deal has not yet been reached, with several issues still under discussion. Biden also emphasized that it remains uncertain when the ceasefire could be implemented under the agreement.

Earlier, the US president warned all parties against undermining efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, stating that an agreement is within reach.

In a statement, Biden announced that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to Israeli Occupation on Saturday, particularly to stress that as a full ceasefire and prisoner release agreement nears completion, no one in the region should take actions that could jeopardize this process.

Biden also took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to highlight the intense and constructive talks held in Doha over the past 48 hours between the United States, Egypt, and Qatar, who have been acting as mediators.

He added that senior officials from these governments are scheduled to meet again in Cairo before the end of next week, with the goal of finalizing the agreement based on the conditions discussed today.
