Norway announced the closure of its Representative Office in Palestine, citing the Israeli Occupation government's decision not to facilitate its representation to the Palestinian Authority (PA).

"The Norwegian representation office in Palestine is closed until further notice,” the country announced. “This action is a direct result of the Netanyahu government's refusal to support Norway's diplomatic presence with the Palestinian Authority. Consequently, our representative office in Ramallah will be closed as of today."

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the closure of its diplomatic mission offices in Ramallah, following a recent decision by “Israeli” Foreign Minister Israel Katz.

Katz's directive prohibits Norwegian diplomats from operating within the PA.

Norway has been a vocal supporter of Palestinian statehood, having officially recognized the State of Palestine and joined legal proceedings against “Israel” at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
