On Tuesday, a coordination meeting was held with representatives from various health and safety state institutions to discuss preparations for dealing with monkeypox. The meeting aimed to define roles and responsibilities of different sectors in the event of a local outbreak.

The meeting focused on raising awareness about the disease, its transmission methods, and evaluating current capabilities and needs for an effective response. Plans and protocols were discussed, including infection control measures, case definitions, hospital isolation rooms, laboratory testing, case transfer procedures, border control measures, and community awareness.

It was noted that no cases of monkeypox have been reported in the country so far, and an outbreak is considered unlikely due to the virus' transmission method, which requires direct contact rather than respiratory spread.

The meeting concluded with the need to update and distribute the coordinated national response plan for monkeypox. A follow-up meeting with relevant stakeholders will be scheduled to implement these updates.
