An earthquake measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale struck northern Iraq on Friday, according to the Iraqi Meteorological Organization and Seismology.

The organization added that the earthquake was recorded 100 km from Duhok province in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq.

It confirmed that no human casualties have been reported so far as a result of the earthquake.
