King Abdullah II reviewed plans for the second phase of the King Hussein Business Park development on Monday. The expansion will cover 309 dunams at a cost of approximately JD 5 million, aiming to stimulate the economy, attract investments, and create job opportunities.

During his visit, accompanied by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the King was briefed on the strategy to enhance the business environment and attract global and regional companies. The new phase will include offices, commercial spaces, data storage facilities, and a hotel, among other developments.

King Abdullah emphasized the need for a competitive business environment with strong infrastructure to attract quality investments. He also called for collaboration with the private sector to address challenges and expedite future development phases.

The first phase of the park, which spans 200 dunams, has seen investments totaling JD 210 million and boasts a 99 percent occupancy rate. It currently hosts 295 startups and employs around 7,000 people.

The King also visited the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, which has provided approximately 3 million job and training opportunities since its establishment in 2001. He praised the fund’s efforts and stressed the importance of sustainability in its projects.

Additionally, the King toured the offices of global IT company SITA, which operates one of its largest regional centers in Jordan, and the e-Health Solutions company, where the National Health Insurance Claims System was launched.

The visit underscores Jordan’s efforts to enhance its business environment and its capacity to attract global companies, particularly in the healthcare and technology sectors.
