The Houthis announced ongoing preparations to retaliate against the Israeli Occupation for its recent bombing of Yemen’s Hudaydah port, Middle East Eye reported.

Houthi leader Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi stated in a televised address on Wednesday that the timing of their response will be unexpected for “Israel”.

He emphasized that while the group is focused on retaliatory actions, their broader goal is to enhance their operational effectiveness in support of Palestine.

Al-Houthi outlined that the Houthi forces have been executing significant operations in the Red Sea.

These include the recent seizure of the Greek-flagged oil tanker Sounion, which was attacked on August 21. The attack on the vessel was partly due to the owner, Delta Tankers, violating a ban on entry to ports in what the Houthis refer to as "occupied Palestine," according to Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree.

Al-Houthi criticized claims from the US that Houthi operations supporting Palestine had been "deterred," asserting that the targeting of the Greek ship disproves these claims. He promised that the group would continue to carry out such operations effectively.
