The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said today that the relevant authorities are closely following investigations into the shooting incident involving a Jordanian citizen on the Palestinian side of the King Hussein Bridge, which is controlled by ‘Israel’, resulting in the death of three ‘Israelis’.

Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Qudah said that preliminary investigations indicate the incident, which also led to the death of the shooter, was an individual act.

The ministry reiterated Jordan's firm stance in rejecting and condemning violence and the targeting of civilians for any reason, emphasizing the need to address the root causes and de-escalation measures that fuel such incidents.

Ambassador Qudah affirmed that Jordan continues its regional and international efforts aimed at securing a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and halting the dangerous escalation in the West Bank, working toward comprehensive calm and the launch of a genuine political process that revives hope for achieving a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

Such a peace, he said, is essential to protect the region from further deterioration that only entrenches despair, extremism, and cycles of violence and death, for which all will pay the price.

Qudah emphasized that a just and comprehensive peace, which ensures the fulfillment of all the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and establishes an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, is the only path to achieving security and stability for all, and to halting the spread of violence and escalation in the region.

He also pointed to Jordan’s repeated warnings about the consequences of continued ‘Israeli’ aggression on Gaza, the dangerous escalation against the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank, and the attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, stressing the broader implications for the entire region.
