European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) deployed 120 observers across all governorates in Jordan on Election Day, as announced by Chief Observer Željana Zovko.

By 8:00 AM, observers had visited 51 polling stations and continued monitoring throughout the day, focusing on the voting process, the closing, counting, and aggregation.

Zovko noted that the opening process was rated positively, with a calm and professional atmosphere across polling stations. "In the 51 polling stations visited for the opening, our observers overwhelmingly rated the process as good or very good," she said. Most stations opened on time, with only minor delays, and essential election materials were available.

However, Zovko also mentioned reports of campaign activities inside and outside some polling centers. Despite this, she emphasized that it was too early to make an overall assessment as voting was ongoing.

The EU EOM will issue a preliminary statement on Sept. 12, detailing their findings on the entire electoral process, including the legal framework, campaign activities, and the participation of women, youth, and minority groups.

The mission, which includes 120 observers from 27 EU member states as well as Canada, Norway, and Switzerland, has been in Jordan since July 19, 2024. They have engaged with over 800 stakeholders across the country to gather insights on the election process. The final detailed report will be published two months after the mission concludes at the end of September.
