Jordan has strongly condemned the Israeli Occupation's bombing of an UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) school in Al-Nuseirat refugee camp, which resulted in the deaths of dozens, including six UNRWA employees, and injured several Palestinians.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a blatant violation of international law.

In a statement released on Thursday, the ministry highlighted that the ongoing violations of international and humanitarian law by the Israeli Occupation continue due to the absence of a firm and effective international stance to end the aggression on Gaza, which has led to unprecedented killings, destruction, and a humanitarian disaster.

Jordan expressed its firm rejection and condemnation of this action, which contradicts humanitarian and moral values as well as the principles of international law, particularly the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilians in Times of War.

The statement emphasized the importance of protecting civilians, vital infrastructure that provides essential services to Palestinians, as well as humanitarian facilities and shelters, all of which must be safeguarded under international law.

Jordan held Israeli Occupation fully responsible for the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, asserting that targeting aid workers and UN personnel, including UNRWA, constitutes a new war crime, adding to the list of war crimes Israeli Occupation has committed in Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent people.

Jordan reiterated its call for the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to take immediate and decisive action to stop these crimes against the Palestinian people, ensure their protection, and fulfill their legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
